Nature has given us so many fruits, vegetables and herbs that are very effective for weight loss plan. I also have described so many fruits and vegetables in my previous posts. Here, you come to know about herbs that can be used for your weight loss program.

1. Garcinia Cambogia

Garcinia Cambogia is a tropical fruit, also known as Malabar tamarind is a popular weight-loss supplement.

Garcinia cambogia contains an ingredient called hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which has been used to aid weight loss. The fruit is safe to eat, and the supplements have helped many people in losing weight. However, clinical evidence of its efficacy is mixed.

If a person is considering taking garcinia cambogia as a supplement, they should discuss it with a doctor before starting.

The active ingredient of Garcinia cambogia is hydroxycitric acid (HCA). As per the study it has the property to boost fat-burning and cut back appetite.

It appears to block an enzyme called citrate lyase, which your body uses to make fat. It also raises levels of the brain chemical serotonin, which may make you feel less hungry.

2. Cumin

Cumin has a unique ingredient thymoquinone. Thymoquinone has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help you lose weight.

In a Physiology & Behavior study it is found that those who took gymnema one hour before being offered food ate less than the participants who had not consumed gymnema. It works as appetite suppressant.

During digestion, gymnemic acids have a “sugar blocking” property. This has a twofold benefit in that, it helps balance blood sugar, and it promotes lean body mass by lessening the amount of sugar that gets stored as fat.

A 2009 study at Holy Cross College in Tamilnadu, India published in the journal “Phytomedicine” found that gymnema leaf was effective at lowering blood sugar and levels of lipids or fats in the bloodstream of laboratory rats.

A 2012 study by researchers in the Department of Biology at Sri Venkateswara University produced astounding conclusions in support of gymnema’s role as a weight loss aid.

More research needed

Nature has given us plenty of herbs that are very effective in so many diseases. But to know its effectiveness more research are needed to conduct. There are also so many herbs that are not yet diagnosed to be used to cure ailments.
